Hi - I am looking to setup a 24/7 streaming from the stage at my bar so people can enjoy the live music from home or where ever they are - it is password protected, and has been quite successful.

I initially did this with a MEVO cam and a Røde usb mic. Image (low light) and sound quality was really good. Setup was easy and it was streaming perfectly via CDN...though it crashed every 5-7 days :(

I then started to look around for a camera that was build for continued streaming and found the PTZoptics Zcam + Røde video Pro mic. Super easy setup and it is rock solid, been running for 3 weeks now non-stop. However the image and Sound quality is just not good enough :(

The good thing about both of those setups is that they are self contained with RTMP being build in + they have audio-in (mevo via the battery pack usb).

I am now looking for a 3rd option that will help me get the solidity of PTZoptics and the image/sound quality of MEVO - and I turn to you for help and input... anyone here that can guide me in the right direction?

I’d be ok setting up an encoder if needed, but I would not want a setup that requires a pc or ongoing maintenance.

I know it’s not exactly IPcamtalk as such, but you all seem like a knowledgeable and helpful bunch of people so I thought I’d ask here anyway...

So, is this even possible? Any ideas?

Thanks

:)

I see a lot of love for Dahua when it comes to low-light. I also read about its RTMP, but understand it has some limitations there? It can not RTMP continuously, right?

Any Dahua starlight with audio in?
If not, I’d need an encoder for it, and then SDI or HDMI out seems to be a must, right?

Dahua Starlight and Hikvision Dark Fighter are the best low-light cameras for the buck, IMO. I don't have any experience with RTMP (other than the few threads around here that I've seen, but you've probably seen those too. A few of the Dahua Starlight models have RCA "audio in" jacks, so the mic would need to be powered. I haven't seen any with a USB mic input.

There are more, but here are two examples of varifocal Starlights (so you can zoom in/out to get the best width image) and both have audio inputs:

@looney2ns, didn't you do a review of a Dahua mic? I can't find it with the search results.

Thanks for your help.

I see that one of those cams comes with HDMI out. That is super handy - I could hook that up to an encoder and add a proper mic...
