Getting the hang of it

I've configured the camera i.e. configuration>events checked enable motion detection and enable dynamic analysis for motion.

Imported camera into iVMS 4200 PVNVR. In tool>record schedule> there is no option for motion detection as per the manual. I'm thinking there is something in the camera configuration that is causing the VMS to not detect the ability of the camera to ustilize motion detection.

Any help appreciated.

I am having a difficult time finding my way around in this software but under Event Management>Motion Detection the camera is set to All-day template and Linkage Action is set to Audible Warning#notify surveillance center#triggered camera.

Also under Event Management If you try to "modify" this there is an Event Type: motion detection but it is greyed out and cannot be selected.

As per the manual I go to Record Schedule>Modify Record Schedule and there should be a Motion Detection option as well as Advanced Settings. Neither are there.

Any advice would really be appreciated.

Did you draw the grid for the motion detection?

If I access the camera through the browser and go to configuration>Events the grid is already there.

If in Ivms4200 Tools>Record Schedule>Modify Record Schedule there is supposed to be an option for Motion Settings where you can draw/modify the grid. BUT, the option is not there.

Where are you referring to when you say draw the grid??

I'm sure I could eventually get this figured out but I think I'll just purchase Blue Iris. Appears to be a lot more user friendly, and it will possibly support some other non-Hikvision cameras I have laying around.

Yes sounds like your grid is there then from the camera, from the camera side that should be all you need along with 'Trigger Channel' from the Linkage method.

PCNVR I don't use it at all, i remember the motion working though when i tested it (but this was 2 years ago)...I'll install it and see what i can find out for you.

Make sure the arming schedule is highlighted green, not sure if it's the same on yours but on all of mine you go into the edit tab I believe under the arming schedule, select motion detection from the drop down and save it. The grid for the schedule will change from blue to green.

Mine has the Motion Settings after Modify Record Schedule...but yours doesn't? I just downloaded the latest version from Hik's website. Here are my settings

Im not using 4200, but don't you habe a schedule settings tab? You have to set it up for motion detection in both places.

No mine did does not have the "motion settings" box there. I think abusch13 may be right, it may be an arming schedule issue.

I installed Blue Iris and I feel it's really going to be a better overall vms. I know I could have got the Hikvision software working but there are some advantages to BI that will help me. thanks
