I purchased a 2212 1.3mp EXIR bullet to install looking over our small parking lot at work. Have to say, if you don't mind the bigger size, the dual EXIR night performance is really excellent.

I'm considering purchasing additional cameras of the same model and was wondering something if anyone can help..

The 2212 is a 1.3mp camera and the 2232 is a 3.0mp camera. I totally understand that the 2232 can operate at a higher resolution which is great.
But IF the camera were to be primarily used in 1280x720 mode anyway, will the 2212 perform 'better' at that resolution than the 2232 would?

I thought I read somewhere that a 1.3mp camera will perform better in low light than a 3.0mp version of the same camera set at the same resolution but maybe I dreamed that or something. Obviously there are many factors that can come into play.

Thanks.

It will be better at night. Having said that though, the dual EXIR will reduce the difference somewhat.

I would say 2232 > 2212 as the increase in resolution is a big difference and the decrease in night-vision is small.

If you were upgrading from 2MP / 1080p, I would say don't bother.
