4.3" monitor for setting up position of CCTV cam doesn't work with camera. Help!

The idea was to hookup my CCTV cameras to it to help me more easily determine mounting locations. The monitor works fine with a small car backup camera I have, but when I connect the CCTV cam to it, it flickers from black to white. Am I doing something wrong? I purchased the BNC to RCA converter connector.

Those are CVI (hd over coax) cameras and will not work with your standard analog unit.
You dont need that unit. Simply use a mobile app to view the camera stream direct from the DVR.
