I just discovered my 150' cable run has one broken pair. I would like to see if it's possible to get the camera working without pulling a new cable. Does the camera actually use all 8 conductors? Would it be possible to rewire the cable and use an external power supply?
I just rewire a severed cable on a IPC-HFW2831T-ZS-S2 8mp camera. It had 6 wires that matched the RJ45 plug. Missing was wires 5 bluestripe and 7 brownstripe all other wires matched the plug layout and the camera works again after matching the 6 camera wires.
The beast that severed the cable was a Galah. Them and Corellas are quite mischievous and will chew cables, windscreen wipers etc. All my cables have to be protected or face damage.
