4MP 2 series vs "OLD" NVR

I have bought a new Original Hikvision DS-2CD2142FWD-IS camera. I tried to connect it to my DS-7108N-SN NVR. THis is a chinese NVR with english NVR.
When I add the cam with full 4MP resolution the nvr says "Stream type is not supported"
When I set it on 1080P it works fine. SO I guess I need a new NVR.
I was looking for Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2/A HD NVR. This one supports Recording resolution 5MP/3MP/1080P/UXGA/720P/VGA/4CIF/DCIF/2CIF/CIF/QCIF. So will this work with my 4 MP resolution?

I too have one 7608NI-E2 ..... would be interesting to know if someone has this device which correctly work with the 4 MP cameras, since on the sheet is declared 5-3 (and less) MP, but nothing for 4 MP ....

It works just fine. I got my DS-2CD3T45-I5 connected to my 7608NI-E1/4P. Latest firmware on the nvr as well, works both with H. 264 and h. 265. Although the nvr can not display h. 265 at the moment so I can at least watch the recordings from a pc or the phone.

Good to know !! Do you refer, for the NVR, to the 3.4.6 fw ( the NVR_K41_BL_ML_STD_V3.4.6_160405.zip) ?
