4MP and Synology Surveillance Station

Hi all, has anybody used one of the new 4MP range on their Synology NAS yet?

They are not on the supported list yet.

As a fellow synology user, I think we are kind of screwed. They update the surveillance application maybe twice a year at best.

I have a DS-2CD2342WD-I with DSM 6.0 / SS 7.2 (yes, both beta). Cam is using ONVIF - SS found it & is recording events (motion, etc) - but playback via LiveView / Timeline is broken. IE can play back the files individually (using the plugin) if selected from Filestation. DS-Cam works without issues & plays the second stream. I have a ticket into Synology for the ONVIF / Generic ONVIF driver - will keep you posted if I get feedback.

Update - got my DS-2CD2342WD-I to work with SS 7.2.

Its a workaround until they fix the plugin - but here's the response from Synology:

The "disconnected" issue in Live View is a known issue with Surveillance Station when TLS / SSL Cipher suites is set to modern compatibility in DSM>Control Panel>Security>Advanced. Changing the setting to intermediate compatibility will fix the issue as a temporary workaround.
