I'm on the fence for a future camera upgrade. I read old posts saying that 4K clarity is good for day time or well lit areas, but that it wasn't as good for night time shots. I selected higher-end cameras with larger CMOS sensors and varifocal lenses to compare. I'm looking at:
  • A82AF5V/HAC-HFW2802T-Z-A (Bullet - 8MP - Starlight+)
  • A82AH5V/HAC-HDW2802T-Z-A (Eyeball- 8MP - Starlight+)
  • HAC-HDW2402T-Z-A (Eyeball - 4MP - Starlight+)
  • A42BJAZ (Eyeball - 4MP - Night Color)
These cameras will be placed in areas where bright daylight and fairly dark night shots will be present. I noticed minimum light for color is slightly lower on 4MP/2K models (.002 vs .005). Are the newer 4K models still suffering from worse night shots than the 2K cameras? Is Starlight+ better than Night Color? Also, is there a difference between Eyeball and Bullet form factor other than IR distance and aesthetics? I'd be grateful for any assistance.
