I can answer only for dahua cameras, the biggest 4mp sensor is 1/1.8. Interestingly, the 1/2.8 sensor in the 2mp cameras and the 1/1.8 sensors in the 4mp cameras, and the 1/1.2 sensors in the 8mp/4k cameras all have the same pixel size. But the technology must be different with the bigger sensors, I say because they perform better with low lighting.
Thanks, I was just curious if any company had given it a try. It might not be as advantageous in terms of marketing and cost as using the larger sensor in the 8mp models. I'm really curious as to what the low-light capabilities would be.

Yes, which would have been incredible for distance
