Ken has added a new feature to the Clips list in Blue Iris in 5.7.9.0 that makes it much easier to get any clip's or alert's database record ID.
Mouse over any entry (Clip or Alert) in the Clips list, and right-click while holding down the Ctrl key.
Blue Iris will copy the item's database record to the clipboard ... in addition to showing the context menu.

in update 5.7.9.0, Ken has fixed some bugs in the 'Search in clips' feature originally introduced in 5.6.1 (link).
If you've never played with this feature, give it a try.
It's a cool way to generate Alerts after-the-fact - and insert a missed event into the Clips list.

5.7.9.0 has a bug where JPEG snapshots uploaded periodically via FTP are incomplete. You only get the first 16800 bytes, and then the file abruptly cuts off.
