5.9.7 - September 5, 2024
Our customers have spoken, and we are finally beginning the process of separating our
business from MyCommerce/Digital River in favor of a more direct payment model using
Stripe and SendOwl. It’s now possible to purchase in-app without the need for email or
copy/pasting license keys. We are also considering the elimination of the auto-renewals for
maintenance in favor of multi-year purchases.

Hmm...I have to file this as tentatively (or potentially) good news. Hopefully we get some clarification on the possible switchover to a "multi-year" purchase option: sounds good, as long as it is truly optional (the way it is now, if we want to continue getting updates), and not a move to a subscription based product (like Microsoft Office365). Fingers crossed for the former option.

A move away from MyCommerce/Digital River is definitely a step in the right direction, IMO...
I like the way it's structured now, just don't like having to deal with MC/DR.
