5442ze motion sensing

I'm having trouble configuring the motion sensing on my cameras. I am trying to set an area so that it ignores the street and sidewalk but it appears that the cameras are ignoring the area setting. I have made sure there is only 1 region in use and that I've hit all save buttons in the Web UI and verified the area is still correct. With all that, my Synology Surveillance Station is still receiving motion info from the camera every time a car drives down the road. Yes, I have the camera setup in SS to use camera settings and not SS settings.

The simple solution is to shut off motion detection and SMD. Enable IVS and set an intrusion box instead.

i use IVS tripwires and intrusion boxes on mine and they are faultless! (well as far as i can tell)

I'll give ivs a try. It is a shame not all the features are working properly on these cameras though. Thanks for the tips.

The camera works fine. Are you setting them up in Explorer and not Chrome or Edge with the IE tab? These cameras are browser sensitive and work best with Explorer.

Further, it could be an issue with Synology.

The 5442 is a very popular camera and wouldn't be so if it didn't work as intended...
