My 3 week old MX200 just died. It was my first Crucial SSD and my first SSD to die out of 9 over 3 years. I will not purchase another Crucial SSD.

That is an anomaly. I have about 20 crucials in operation including the m4’s and mx500’s with zero issues..the amazon reviews have also been stellar...i am also using intel and samsung drives without issues....I only have two mx200's installed on Sunday in raid 1-well see how that goes :)

I agree it is an anomaly. It happens. Myself and family have been buying mostly Crucial SSDs since the m4, because of good prices and great customer review averages. Looking back at order histories, I see 10 crucial SSDs. Out of those 10, we have seen 1 fail. It was my dad's M4 I think, and luckily it showed early symptoms (trouble during boot-up) so we had a week-old clone of the disk on an M500 ready to go when it stopped working. Then last December, I had a fairly new 128GB MX100 disappear off my main PC while it was running. It came back to life after a reboot or two but I ordered a Samsung 850 EVO to replace it because why risk it, right? It could have been a loose SATA connection for all I know. Maybe I should dig up that MX100 and run a SMART test on it. But even if it comes back clean I don't know what I'd do with it. I don't have a lot of use for another 128GB SSD especially when its reliability has been questioned at one point.
