Lurker, finally registered. I decided to move my older parents from my ubiquiti setup, network and surveillance, to a more consumer friendly network lineup and a surveillance system kit3 I got from EmpireTechAndy.
A few questions here, I have always managed the systems remotely. Are there things I cannot do remotely that can only be done on the system. I followed one tutorial i found on youtube, but they setup and layout was different. I installed the cameras and had to leave, so i remote in through ssh or the VPN and handle everything. But I don't think i'm able to fully do everything.
Also, are there tutorials about events, best setup practices (not networking or security, i don't need advice on that).
The biggest problem i've ran into is the unifi app was so easy for my parents to get events and activity notifications. thx
