A Plead for Help With Random App (BI) Crashing

I have this problem too, it is such a pain. I have been spending hours and hours of Googling trying to resolve the issue and no luck. In the application log, only BI is crashing. Most of time BI just restarts and I dont notice anything
Mostly with 0xc0000409 and sometimes 0xc0000005

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 19045) (19041.vb_release.191206-1406)
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor
131072MB RAM (128GB)
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti with 565.90 studio driver

BI version: 5.9.8.5
Camera Count: 20
AI: ProjectAI 2.6.5 with YOLOv5 6.2 1.9.1 (GPU)
Hardware decode: DISABLED system wide

BI usually able to restart and recover by itself, so it went down without notice. I bet most of people who uses BI, if they look at their Windows event log, they will prob find their BI is crashing as well, except most people dont notice
Talk to a friend who is running BI, his BI also crashing, except not as frequently, he had to look into the event log and filtered.

AGAIN, I already spent hours hours over the year trying to resolve BI and no luck (like reinstalling Windows, fresh BI, fresh setup etc etc), and BI dev and community is pretty dismissive regarding to this kind of issues as no one really know what is going on since BI isnt open source
Most thread like this, will just go dead as no one longer replies/answers. I wish dev could fix this

Yes I have some of these errors, but I did a filter and checked that there has only been 23 of them in the past 10 months, the last one occurred 15 days ago!

Thank you for confirming, personally i suspect the frequency depends on how it is used. From observation, I find that the following increases crashing rate for my situation
1. More cameras (I have 20)
2. Heavily used web, like constantly on web, using webUI to see history and other action, multiple clients are using the web

The BI crash on my computer is all over, sometimes a week, sometimes a few in a day, it is very random

Do you have a current support agreement in place, have you reported this to support, that is the only way that it will get fixed!

Yes I was confirming that not everyone has it as bad as you are reporting, I only have 8 cameras on the system I checked. I have not reported it myself as it is not causing any issues that I was able to observe in my usage, as I was totally unaware that it was happening!

A lot of times this is attributed to a problem with the video driver. I see you have a G-Force in so I would try different drivers. You may even need to go backwards.

Sure I can send them an email, but so many people have reported over the years on the forum regarding to the similar issue and no solution, i doubt if ill get anything useful from the Email support
And even if it is an issue, if just me reporting(sending email), they prob will just leave it as low priority, since not many people willing to report it, or aware of it, or just dont think it matters to them

I dont think i understand what your point is, since:
Different driver? like non-nvidia driver?
Also, I am not even using GPU decoding at all in BI, only AI uses GPU, so does not make much sense that GPU driver is causing the crash
Furthermore, I have been using BI for more than 3 years, and been kept up with new release of GPU driver from official nvidia. BI still crashing regardless to the video card driver

I've been watching and waiting hoping for a solution to this. I also feel like it's something to do with the web ui since I have a dedicated PC in our living room streaming the web UI 24/7. I have also found that when I am looking at footage it crashes at time trying to load a given file. all of my video clips are set to be split in 1 hour segments or 4gb in size. the BI pc uses a SATA SSD, I had been using a larger spinning disk for footage but loading was very slow and caused a lot more crashes than with an SSD.

from what I have seen, windows sees the BI app cpu usage increase when searching or loading a video file and does not "wait" long enough for the app to do what it needs to do and kills the app. if we were able to dig into windows it's self and tell it to leave BI to do it's thing, these crashed might be eliminated.

Adding to this, not sure if it has anything to do with the crashing, but I have started another thread looking for help with a log entry I see each time BI restarts. might be something to do with this, might be something totally different.
