I have several Hikvision cameras. While these cameras can be accessed through hostnames, I've encountered an issue with the 'Domain Name Settings' in Network/Basic Settings. When attempting to enter a name in 'Register Domain Name,' it doesn't facilitate access using the name.
Luckily, the cameras have mDNS implemented. I used Wireshark to confirm that they are responding to mDNS, and indeed, they are.
Go to System / System Settings -> copy the "Serial No."
DS-2CD2046G2-IU/SL2020xxxxAAWRExxxxxxxx
replace '/' with '-'
add .local at the end
DS-2CD2046G2-IU-SL2020xxxxAAWRExxxxxxxx.local
Enter that in the browser and it will work !
Use Chrome with "IE Tab" extension, the extension expires after some time, remove it and reinstall it.
My cameras now can be access by using an hostname, no more remembering IP addresses.

DS-2CD2346G2-ISU-SL2020xxxxAAWRExxxxxxxx.local
