Acusense Hardware or Software?

Hi all

I'm wondering if the deep learning acusense technology is simply software or if it relies on hardware support itself.

Does anyone have a bootlog or dmesg log from an acusense camera? Would be interested to see the difference between other G1 devices.

Not sure, but I believe they are different. In the list of supported cameras in the G1 platform firmware, the DS-2CD2346G1 Acu Sense turret is present and according to another forum the AcuSense did initially share its firmware with the G1. However the AcuSense now uses the G1+M firmware and if you attempt to put the later V5.6.3 G1 firmware on it, the firmware upgrade will fail.

Interesting. If true I might try and put G1+M on a G1 camera with a few tweaks so it works just to see what happens.

There might be hardware differences that mean Acusense can't be enabled but I'm mostly just curious how it works :)

Ahh that would explain it :)

Having a VPU would make (acu) sense! Thanks for satisfying my curiosity itch there :)

So I saw a separate thread in regards to G1 vs G2 version cameras of Acusense. Does anyone have an idea of the differences between the two?Screenshot_20200221-105611_Adobe Acrobat.jpg
The only real difference I can see is that the G2 versions are now 4k or 8mp

Think I mentioned it on another post - can't remember whether it was this forum or not. For the AcuSense models:

G1 only available in 2 or 4 MP and none have in built mic
G1 has motion detection disabled by default - enabling it disables the other analytics such as line crossing etc
G2 available up to 4K
G2 can have motion detection and the other analytics

Most importantly G2 became available about 1 week after I finally got a G1

Yep I found it.

I wonder if the motion detection is processed by the Acusense chips to only alarm on people and vehicles

I would have thought so.

And presumably limited the megapixels on the G1 range to 4MP. Must have a better VPU for the G2 8MP cameras.
