Getting the hang of it

I have a cheap 4mp camera (4mp camera on amazon) at my gate which uses a ubiquity nanostation to connect to the network. I'm running the LAN cable from the nanostation injector to a POE injector (Injector) and now I'd like to add a second camera - a 2mp PTZ uses less then 10 watts since no IR.

I can't seem to find a POE injector with 2 outputs. Do I need to get a 5 port POE switch?

I'm mounting the electrical components in an enclosed 10 inch by 14 inch x 2.5 inch outdoor box, so one of my concerns is heat build up during the summer.

Or consider a POE extender. It's essentially a POE powered POE switch so POE powers it, no wall wart in your enclosure. The one linked is a 2 port, there are up to 4 port versions. This one is for indoor (you have an enclosure) but outdoor-rated versions are available.

You must consider the POE wattage capacity from your POE switch or POE injector in order to feed your 2 cams, a 10 watt PTZ and a 5.1 watt 4MP turret cam.

I've had this one in place running since June of '23:

Thanks for the help. I went with a 5 port tp-link POE switch figuring it would be more robust and easier to add a 3rd camera down the line.

I'm slightly worried about heat build up but I have 9 months before that's an issue :)
