I have a IPC-T2431T-AS-2.8mm from Andy and I'm trying to dial in a better night image. Here are my settings below. Currently the images I'm getting are grainy. I have attached a full-res image that shows what I'm describing. I have 2 IR illuminators for this area and not using the camera IR. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I think it is more the limitation of the 2.8mm focal length. Anything beyond 10-12 feet is hard to not have grainy beyond those distances, especially on the edges of the camera view.

You could try turning 2D down more - in some field of views I have found 15 does a good job. Other views it needs more.

You could try adjusting bitrates up and down and see if that improves it any.

You could also slow down the shutter to allow more light in.

I think many would find that image acceptable.

Thanks, so leave 3D as is and reduce 2D. I'll try that tonight. Here are my video settings.

While @wittaj 's recommended shutter is 8.33, that is a starting point. If you are not trying to catch sprinting deer, slow it way down, try 12 ms. I have a 2431 3.6 mm on deer duty and am running it at 12 ms. Yes, it will blue on some motion, but should reduce the grain a fair amount. I've found you have to run widely different settings on different cameras, try running 3D NR up, and play around with 2D. I haven't found 2D has much of an impact, 3D does - just turn it off and see!

At the end of the day, that’s a 1/3” CMOs sensor. You’re only going to get so much out of it. I tested it and have a LOT of white light and it did pretty good, but with IR only in a very dark scene, I’d step up to the 5442 series with the much bigger sensor

For what you have it is doing fine for it's size. How about a min shutter speed of 1 rather than 0?

FWIW I dont run a range much at night. I prefer a fixed shutter in dark. Try manual 1/120.
