In all likelihood, you can pull the video feeds right from your NVR into it.

In BI, you select add camera and put the IP address of the NVR into the IP address location. Put in username and password and hit find/inspect and let BI do its thing.

Then about halfway down is a pull down for Camera number and pick camera 1 and then hit ok. The camera should show up. Then add camera and the select copy and copy this camera and then change the number 1 to a 2 and repeat for your cameras.

So download the BI trial (hit demo instead of keying in the license) and give it a try and see if you like it better than the NVR.

A step is missing from how to move Blue Iris. Prior to deactivating it make careful note of your license number. That can be done by opening the configuration page and clicking on "contact support". That will copy your license number, as well as the basic configuration information, to your clipboard. Then open NotePad or WordPad and paste it there. Print it out and maybe even save it for future reference. Then you can safely deactivate and have the license number ready when you install on a dedicated machine.

Another way would be to load the "demo" version to fool with and leave it unlicensed while you experiment and learn the basics. If you run out of time you will need to install the license and use the procedure above before moving it to a permanent home.
