If you're looking for a brand that doesn't suffer from vulnerabilities, it doesn't exist. If you just need a quality brand with a name that doesn't have as much bad press, try Dahua.

security concerns, us military base removing the cameras from their premises, I have a customes ask when I submitted a proposal " aren't those the cams own by the Chinese Government"

Hah. It is all politics then.

Anyway if your customers want a different brand, Dahua is a good choice. Just as long as you are aware they are just as likely to have cybersecurity problems as Hikvision.

Hi Konnect,

As bp2008 mentions - we know all software based products have security holes. Thus we try to isolate the security camera network from the normal network traffic.

All large Chinese companies and multinational partnerships in China have Party members somehow owning a significant part of the company. It's just how it is.

Options - Hikvision, Dahua, or pay more with perhaps Axis, Bosch, .. or ??

If you give your customer quotes from various brands perhaps they can then decide on which to pick.

You could switch to re-branded Hikvision like LTS or other brands like Dahua or Hanwha. Given enough time every brand will have security issues and some bad press. Do your part to educate your customers about things they shouldn't do for security reasons, maybe a written handout or even something with a waiver you make them sign.
