4.2.2.0 Seems to have fixed the smearing - but the motion detect went off the scale. There was another version between 4.2.2.6 and 4.2.2.0 that brought the smearing back, but fixed the motion sensitivity. Smearing went away again with 4.2.2.6 - which I'm running now which seams stable.
I need to tweak motion setting again since I was heavily adjusting them to try and alieviate the previous problems so I'm probably not sensitive enough right now - but i'm back to usable.
