New user in forum...

I have HIKVision DS-7604NI-E1 / 4P NVR. with one camera connected to thru LAN PoE cable (have plans to expend it to more cameras in the future). All was good for a few years.

Last week there was a power outage. After this outage the NVR came back on but it was like it was made factory reset.

However the NVR is not detecting the camera. On the camera list screen, when plugging in the camera, the yellow rectangle sign is changed to "detecting" for a few seconds and then again appears. No camera is being detected.

I switched between ports, switched camera to a brand new one, switched cables. There are lights on NVR LAN socket when plugging-in the cable on each port and also on NVR on PoE screen it is indicated that the power consumption is normal.

Also, I've upgraded NVR Firmware to V3.4.106 build 191009 without success.

Any clue? I suspect it is something physical related to the outage but want to be sure before I'm taking money out of pocket and buy a new NVR.

Can you power the camera with a 12VDC wall wart or POE injector or PE switch and detect it with SADP on your PC?
Can you perform a hard reset of the camera?

It may be that there is now a mismatch between the camera IP address (originally assigned by the NVR when the camera was first connected and 'activated') and the IP address that the NVR channel expects to find the camera at, which could have changed after the NVR reset to default settings.

Also - did you use the same admin password to 'activate' the NVR as it used to be. By default this will be the admin password for the camera also.

Suggestion to test :
In the NVR web GUI, under System | Camera management - note down the IP address associated with the channel the camera is connected to.
It will be something like 192.168.254.x
Connect the PC to an unused NVR PoE port, where the NVR and camera should both be detected edit using SADP.
Note down the IP address of the camera.
If this is not the same as that of the channel it's connected to then the NVR won't connect the camera.

If so, fix this in either of 2 ways :
Use SADP, and the original NVR admin password, to change the camera IP address to match that expected by the NVR channel it's connected to.
Or
In the NVR web GUI, modify the IP address that the channel expects to find the camera at to match the actual IP address of the camera.

Hopefully the camera will now connect automatically.

MANY THANKS!!! reverting the NVR PW to the old one solved the issue. Now I don't need to buy a new one... (-;

BTW - another small question instead of opening a new tread - is there a firmware for the NVR which doesn't use web component plugin on remote from Windows PC? It is not supported by Edge/FF/Chrome. How could I find the suitable FW?
