Good evening there ipcamtalk.com forum folks!

My Techage Network Video Recorder (model XM-6916k) has been setup and is working as good as I hoped!

It offers custom voice prompts over POE cameras which offer 2 way communication between owner + guest/delivery folks/potential criminals..

I see a record option but am unable to find a way to record with clarity and to be able to save such a custom voice prompt for use with my system.

There is only a audio out jack which I've not found recognizes any audio input (as it's not made to..)

I have purchased a microphone that uses USB and has an audio USB dongle which I can plug the microphone into but it isn't recognized by the DVR.

This is one situation I've been unable to solve after weeks of searching and troubleshooting.

Techage tech support is friendly but I perceive there is a communication barrier which is why I'm seeking help here from one of you who I believe knows the solution to this.

Also I've been "told" (chatted) I can upload after setting up FTP which this NVR does support. I've put in the internal IP address and the port and opened the port on my router but when I click a button to "test" the FTP connection it says "test...." then "send failed" then almost immediately if I click "test" button it gives me "send failure"... (FTP SOLVED BELOW)

I'm seeking to communicate with my NAS (Network Attached Storage) FTP server and have a login and password set and access also setup....but for some reason I'm not getting connected....

On another PC on the network I'm able to FTP in with Filezilla client with ease... (to my NAS FTP server)... but the NVR isn't cooperating.

Any thought on what I'm missing to fix the FTP connection with the NVR to the NAS?

Thank you kindly and GOD Bless us all with His truth!

FTP connection FIXED!!!

I started a new FTP server from my PC with FTP Core server (following a tutorial I found at this link: DahuaWiki)

DahuaWiki

Following the directions there solved the FTP problem! (Thank GOD for the help in solving that!)

Now wondering how to get the custom voice prompts (custom audio clips which are triggered by motion detection) on my NVR...

Any idea on how to do that?

Right!!! Thank GOD the solution is something I've not found anyplace on the intertrap!!

XMeye app (not pro and which is blue with a partial outline of a house) allowed me to add my NVR by taking a picture of the QR code which for me (Techage XM-6916k 16 channel NVR) is located in the MAIN MENU>ABOUT or going into MAIN MENU>NETWORK!!

From there I'm able to open any camera and there will be a gear or cog looking button.

From there INTELLIGENT ALARM>SMART ALERT>IPC LINKAGE>ALARM SOUND>CUSTOM (click + next to "the custom"> can record here 5 seconds and it can be added to any channel/camera and saved from there.

Strange there wasn't any clear information and Techage support staff didn't understand my concern or didn't have knowledge of how to do this.

Going to see if there is an XMeye program for my PC so I can use a better microphone and get a better sound byte.
