Alternatives to Dahua (NVR) web plug-in?

I feel weird installing Dahua's web plug-in on Windows (and idk if it's even available for Android Chrome) or using the DMSS app after attempting to keep the cameras off the internet. Are there any more reputable or open source alternatives?

Not really unless you can get access to everything you want without it.

Many people use BI and the live view from it to change parameters to dial in the image like brightness, contrast, etc. But it makes setting up IVS rules difficult.

But to get the full experience, you will likely need to download the plugin that works with Internet Explorer and use Explorer (yea we know LOL) depending on the age of the cameras.

You can manage what you need via SmartPSS, but i think they've discontinued that now in favour of SmartPSS Lite, which i'm pretty sure doesn't allow management of the remote device.

Have installed the IE plugin on a number of them, my firewall appliance shows me all flows, it doesnt call out
