It works well using the silk browser.

Never see the adds on the lock screen either because it never goes to the lock screen. You can set it to be always on and never go to sleep while plugged into power.
Only time it doesn't run silk browser is when it updates automatically, I always skip the registration too. Not tied to amazon account

I use them to monitor Live cameras mostly, don't do much clip watching on them.
I have 2 and they are mounted on wall with 3d printed mounts. Powered all the time with power cords running in the wall into basement.

@ $69 for current version fire tablet it's a steal, Can't even find old out of date ones for that price.

Try it if you're on the fence. It's amazon, you can easily return it. Just don't let them tie it to an account.

Yes they work great, I just bought another one to use in the bedroom to monitor my cameras at night. As Heavyoop said ... make sure you uncheck the "Link device to your Amazon account to simplify setup" box before Adding to Cart.


ETA ... WalMart has the 10.4" onn Tablet Pro (64GB, 2023 model) for $49 with free shipping.
