Amcrest 1920TVL

I have a 1920 TVL I believe. Darn power jack pin broke. Come on, it was in window, then I stapled the wire down the moulding to ac. How much stress can that be?

Well moot point because I snapped off the jack and found a point for vIN.

It starts, but light goes red instantly.

Responds only to ICMP PING. no tcp anything, scanned it. I try reset but it keeps settings. Connected by lan and Wi-Fi.

I tried using reset button. At 10s it is like you repowered it, red led off for sec.
20s pass and the led becomes orange, it flashes a few times,
at 30s it is red again if I keep holding it.
Still it won't lose settings!

It's periodically paning/tilting as if POSTing.

Help?

Matt

I believe the 1920TVL is the resolution for a 2MP camera; could it be the IP2M-841 ?

I suggest you try powering off cam, press reset button, power on while still pressing reset button for 40 seconds, then let go and disconnect power.
Power up again with NO reset button and see what happens.

I recall you having power jack issues with this cam and another brand camera. Not sure why you're having those issues, as I have about 9 of these in service for over 3 years in homes and businesses etc. with no issues of any kind, especially with the power jack. May be time for another one, at $45 I wouldn't spend another minute on it, IMO.
