Android App not automatically retrieving IPs

Within the the network edit page of blue Iris for android, it has a button to "get IPs". When you click that button, it will retrieve the current WAN address on the server and apply it to the network configuration for the android app. This is all well and good, but shouldn't it be doing this automatically as well?

Not automatically.

Most of us would say you shouldn't even allow the BI server access to the internet for security reasons. If the system was constantly trying and failing to find a WAN address, it would cause more issues that it would fix. There are plenty of DNS updater services that you can use to ensure you can always access your local network while remote. It doesn't need to (and probably shouldn't) happen at the BI level. Most routers today natively support the most popular DNS update services.
