I love Blue Iris on my PC, but I'm having issues with the Android mobile app
  • Unable to connect. Unable to reach server
  • if it matters, the app was downloaded in Sept 2020

Here's what I tried ..
  • BI mobile, entered first/last five of key
  • BI mobile, LAN ip and port matches the BI Settings on PC, "Local, internal (LAN) access"
  • BI mobile, WAN ip and port matches my home external public IP
  • BI mobile, username and password matches PC BI settings, users, (the admin user)
  • on the cable modem, port forwarded to the LAN and port (not sure if this was done correctly)
  • on the AmpliFi router, also port forwarded to the same LAN and port (not sure if this was done correctly)
If it helps to know, i have a Windows 10 PC, with 2 Amcrest cameras, and 1 Amcrest Doorbell Camera attached. I can access all cameras fine via Blue Iris.

Please let me know if you need any more info.

Thanks in advance!

Looks like i just solved the problem, so for anyone else .. here it is.

On the PC, inside BI, Web Server, inside the section "Local, internal (LAN) access, is something called Adaptors. The "unable to reach server" problem was b/c the dropdown was already (wrongly) set to an IP of a virtual machine on my PC. Once i clicked the dropdown, i saw what turned out to be the real IP of my PC, ie the IP of the BI server. Once that IP was selected, the mobile app can see all my cameras.

So far the app is very nice.
