It looks like he was quickly interrupted by the white van that drives by. It appears there were at least 2 other people in the car. I spotted a passenger in the front, and one in the back on the drivers side. The streetlight on the corner was fixed this morning, so the corner was not dark, plus he stood directly in his car's own headlights.
