Hi,
just another guy jumping onboard.
I've been lurking for a while and found this place full of great informations, so Idecided to register and say hello to all!

I've been given a couple of IP cameras for free, they are from an Italian company but they are obviously just rebranded clones.
ONVIF device manager identifies them as :
Code:
Manufacturer: HeroSpeed

Code:
uname -a
Linux Ipcamera 3.10.73 #3 PREEMPT Tue Jan 19 14:29:28 CST 2016 armv7l GNU/Linux

cat /etc/issue

They are both somewhat working but one of them is behaving strangely: it emits an audible noise when going into night mode and IR led are on, and after a while it becomes unresponsive. I can't ping nor access it and obviously it is not streaming any image. This usually happens when in night mode so I suspect it is some sort of power related issue. It doesn't seem related to power source because I tried various sources, both POE and switching power supplies and it makes no difference, the camera always becomes unresponsive after a while (sometime after hours). I inspected the mainboard and I don't see any evident problem, but I'm not too expert in this field.
Both cameras run quite hot after a while, could it be a thermal issue? I even thought about opening some ventilation holes. I consider them just a leraning test bench so I'm willing to experiment.
Is there any chance I can do something to recover this dying camera? Any chance I can upgrade firmware or even install another brand's one (I'd rather not have a trojan horse in my network if possible:) )?
