I'm no longer using the WIFI antenna for my PTZ camera (Amcrest IP2M-858W). I instead ran an Ethernet line for it. I'd like to remove the antenna and place a cap on it to prevent rust on the RP-SMA female connection.
I believe some people install resistor caps on their antenna connections. I'm wondering if it's necessary to have a resistor cap and if so what the purpose of that is? Also, how much resistance is required? Or, would it be okay to just install a plastic cap over top?
