Any Gotchas or General Advice if Considering HA on My Blue Iris Winbox

I have now got my Blue Iris system running in a stable manner, and was thinking I could get HASS running alongside it. Is this a bad idea... particularly with respect to reducing the security of the Blue Iris system?
