I just received the Amcrest IP8M-T2669E-AI and can confirm it's the same as the Dahua IPC-HDW3841TM-AS.
It's system info screen states:
appAutoStart=true
deviceType=IP8M-T2669E-AI
hardwareVersion=1.00
processor=SSC339
serialNumber=**
updateSerial=IPC-HDW3841TM-AS

Getting comfortable
It adds some stuff under video like ai codec and “smooth” slider, some other protocols under network, and some other random stuff like custom overlay text.
notably, it removes face detection. But I’m not using it for that.
I also feel like the video is smoother, but that’s subjective.

I've posted a review for this camera - I didn't try replacing the firmware. For home use I like to hack away, but for someone else, I'd rather install something which they could hire someone else to support.
