I'll be pole mounting a Dahua SD49225T-HN 25x zoom (link) to a pole looking out over the ocean. It's occasionally windy. The camera needs to be about 20 feet above the top of the house to see the ocean. Unfortunately this model doesn't have image stabilization (I think).

I know a bit of movement is inevitable when it's blowing 20 knots and we're zoomed way in, but any tips on building a structure with minimal movement?

Wow it's amazing that that only weighs 55 pounds.

$600 is a bit pricey though. And I'm hoping to semi disguise it (current plan is to mount a wind anemometer on it).

Given that, any best practices for using a regular pole? Was thinking galvanized plumbing pipe attached to building wall in a few places?

Please don't use PVC!!!
You want to remember, you will need to clean the lens on the camera from time to time.
