Any way to make the heater turn on when there is snow/ice on the camera?

Alot of snow is sticking to the front of the camera i have, AXIS P1387-LE Box Camera. I just turned the heater on manually, and i can see the snow is starting to melt. But is there a easier way? I use the Axis camera station edge app on my phone, is there a way to assign a button there? Or make it go automatic? Thanks.

Used the camera for a very short time. Wasn't happy so sold it to a friend of mine.. But if I remember correctly there is a feature of Power levels. One is high power and the other is low power and low power isn't designed to be used in cold weather. SO I would log into the WebUI, Look at the setup menu for the power and confirm if you are on High Power.. Also sorry I have so many cameras it is hard to remember all of them or the use of some I no longer have. I mean I wish I would have copied the menu down it would make it easier. . However there might be an area like Environment control and there might have been a heater Auto. I know all my cameras I have the heater setup for Auto. At times I forget to turn them on Auto after the summer because I turn them off just to be safe lol. But at times I forget and I have to turn on the heater and the IRs to help with faster melting of ICE.. Anyway High power output. It will require more power for the camera. But it does control the heater as well. Let me know if I was in the right ball park. I have not seen the camera since late April and I have messed with so many other cameras that I forget all functions over time from cameras that I don't use often. Hope that is helpful.

Sorry I was wrong but I am going to guess that it might be close to the same setup anyway.. I had the Q1656LE. my son said I should have kept it seeing it is better then a few of my other bullet style cameras, but my friend wanted it more then I did and it was the right fit for his needs. I had the 9-50mm lens and for the location just wasn't long enough range. Right now using a different brand and style box camera with 7-70mm lens. Even that is little shy of what I want but works well enough..

I have an axis camera with the option to toggle the heater on/off in the web GUI, but the ice/snow is not melting. I've ran the heater for over an hour, via web GUI, but nothing has changed from the amount of ice built up on the camera. This leads me to believe that the heater is not actually heating even though the web GUI indicator shows that the heater is on and has a countdown/timer.

Some units have lens heaters and not full unit heaters and or the heating was unplugged for power issues. Have one location that don't have heated camera so I used frost king pipe heat tape to keep it heated in winter months. Right now may need to use heat gun to defrost your camera.

I didn't unplug anything so it is either broken or not heating enough to melt the ice. I guess I'll wait for mother nature, this camera is 25 ft up on a pole.

If lens is covered to help in heating if have ir, enable b/w mode with ir manual on full power. I had to do this once in ice storm
This somewhat worked. It removed about 1/2 of the ice but then it stopped. The IR is still on, camera changed to b/w and the power was set to high on both lights (by default) but it doesn't seem to be making any more progress. Much better than it was so I'll consider this a win for now.
