Anyone Else Seeing Memory Card Issues With Dahua IPC-HFW2831T-ZS's ?

Purchased 2 x 2831's from @EMPIRETECANDY (fast service as always !) and am seeing the same issue on both. Namely that for seemingly no reason at all they lose their SD cards after an hour or so. Reboot brings them back but of course nothing has been recorded during that time therefore rendering the SD card feature of this camera effectively useless.

These are known good cards that I can use in other Dahua cams I own without any issue at all. I've included the system log events for these below and as you can see it would appear the camera believes the card is being removed and the inserted however a) this actually isn't physically happening and b) even though it shows re-inserted, it is at that time that the camera has (and never regains without reboot) lost the SD card.

Very frustrating and wondering if anyone else has experienced this or knows of a fix ?

I have both re-flashed the 2019 FW that came with this and even downgraded to the 2018 but both exhibit the same issue. Again, reboot brings the SD card straight back but then after an hour or so max, loses them again.

I have also reached out to @EMPIRETECANDY directly for help and hoping he or Dahua can offer a fix for this.

Thanks all

Memory cards for reference are the 128GB Samsung Evo's - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XWZWYVP

Just took a look at a unit I installed a while back. It has the same issue. It is running
2.622.0000000.8.R, Build Date: 2018-07-31

@fenderman thanks for the input, that is interesting. Both of mine came with the 2019 01 09 firmware installed that @EMPIRETECANDY Andy provided on the forum recently. Issue still persists in that latest FW as well so it definitely seems like a bigger issue with these cams.

Note, I did not test how long it takes to drop off. I updated the firmware to that same version and will monitor.

I've seen anywhere from 1 to 4 hours but certainly doesn't last much longer than that. Appears at random, in other words Motion Events record fine then all of a sudden the SD card will drop. That Hot Swap event seems to indicate that something in the camera makes it think you are hot swapping the SD cards (even though nothing is physically being done) and that is when the issue starts. Again, even though the cam also recognizes the card being 'inserted' it never regains ability to see the card until after a reboot.

Just checked the cam. It is working ok since the firmware update about 28 hours ago. Will keep checking.

Still seeing issues on my side and attempting to run it to ground. Saw it last 23 minutes today before the Hot Swap event showed up with Remove then Re-Insert but the cam never saw the card again. Have removed the SD card physically and re-formatted outside of the cam to test that as well and will report back. Very strange that I'm seeing exactly the same issue on both cams, both were newer build dates and both shipped with the 01/09 FW even though I have tried that and the last 2018 one as well. Will continue to report back on any findings on this as I move forward.

I am having a similar issue with a IPC-HDBW4431FP-AS writing to a Samsung Endurance micro SDXC 128GB card. Camera software does not allow playback but am wondering if the card only will play video once inserted in a PC.

Your issue is not related. You can always play back in the cameras web interface. The OP's issue is the card is dropping off. You need to install the proper plugin.

Take one down and power it with a short premade cable.

@fenderman funny you say that, I set that up just before your latest post to test as well.

What is strange is the cam isn't showing any packet loss, no other 'anomalies' in the logs apart from Event Start & End, plus usual login/logout (by me) and the Hot Swap. Testing 1 with the pre-made and camera formatted card and the other, in place, hand made cable and PC formatted card. Both currently running the 2018 downgrade FW.

If still no joy then will look at individual events and see if there is any correlation to recording an event and card not being seen. Also although these are known good cards I also intend to pickup a few more for testing (same card (currently EVO select), then EVO plus and endurance as well) just to see if there is anything strange going on. If all else fails then ultimately could point to HW which would be a real shame or maybe some weird FW related issue under set circumstances but will report back on what I find as I continue to test and attempt to narrow this down further.

I would test one with the new firmware and a short cable. something is not right. It is highly unlikely to have two with the same issue. In fact I would isolate the camera so nothing else is on the switch/network you are testing it with.

Try to format the SD card, and try some other brands SD card to check? I will ask dahua to check this bug.

I had all sorts of issues with microSD cards in the 59225 and 1A225 which settled down with the latest firmware - maybe Dahua need to port the fixed code across more cameras?
