Are NVR's necessary for Dahua Cameras?

Hello All
I am about to purchase some Dahua cameras, I never had any of these cameras or NVR, I have IP switches for all my cameras, my question is it necessary to purchase a NVR for the Dahua cameras?
Please let me know.

Many use Blue Iris or other software. Some will use SmartPSS by Dahua and run them off a PC. Some get by with just the app.

So short answer is NO, but you need to decide how you plan to utilize them and then look at getting what best fits your needs.

Not Dahua, but I've had a few hikvisions running for years without one. They just need somewhere to store the data--could be a microsd on the camera or some network storage (the latter being what I use for the most part). I manage the cameras entirely within their embedded web site.
