I've read the cliff notes and searched the forums. This site is an incredible resource. Thank you to everyone who adds value here.
I just got the 16 port Dahua NVR NVR4216-16P-4KS2 with 8 of the 4433C-A's.
I'm implementing this setup instead of a Ring infrastructure. I don't understand what the audio config/options are for this setup. The two things I value about Ring are a) push notifications for motion alerts, b) two-way audio.
I bench tested one camera. When I brought up its live view on the NVR I heard audio over the TV (I have the NVR plugged into a TV/speakers). That was an exciting moment. But when I brought up the same live view on the iDMSS Plus iOS app I did not hear any audio.
Questions:
1) Is there something specific I need to do with the mobile app to hear audio?
2) Is there a way to do two-way audio on any of the cameras? If so, how? I probably only need it on one, anything more than on one camera would be a bonus, but who doesn't like bonuses.
3) How do push notifications for motion alerts work? This is the Ring feature I would like to replace with this setup.
