Hey guys from Australia,

According to the requirements of the Australian tax code, from July 1, 2018, AliExpress platform needs to impose an additional 10% GST on orders of AUD 1,000 and below, and declare and pay to the Australian Taxation Agency. Please provide the following taxation information to your logistic provider. The logistician needs this information when importing orders into Australia:
1. Whether the ordered goods have been levied by the platform GST: You can check the GST on behalf of the order by yourself. You can use the order details to determine if the order has a Tax charge or not.
2. ATO Reference No. (ARN) of ASL: 3000 1351 4525

So for Australia order better to use paypal only now. Or else will cost 10% more.

Andy

:wow: yes, that is maybe same, now all countries try to charge more tax for importing...But aliexpress will take the tax and then pay to Australian Gov, this is strange.

Yes, the socialist governments enlist everyone else to do the dirty work for them and allow them to charge you a fee for the pleasure so your 20% GST becomes 20% plus a $10 admin fee on a $100 purchase so it's really 30%. Happens in the UK and Europe too. UPS, Fedex etc. are the tax collectors.

Yes our local chamber of commerce & business have been requesting the government for years to implement this crap, on the basis that they're losing a competitive edge to overseas/online stores. I've just had to order from overseas (your store) because there's not one single local Dahua supplier that provides what I want! Not, one. So, you going to open a local Australian store anytime soon, after you set up in the USA ;).

Why is it that everything is so expensive when it is going to Australia? I mean the importing on goods to Australia is mostly make me go like :wow:

Because our wages are higher probably than many places, & so cost of living, cost of running & owning a business & all that goes with it, is also higher. And so businesses like to take us for a ride & wonder why we shop online/overseas. But we also like to live in comfort :winktongue:.
I'm just glad Andy will continue to sell & supply to Australia, unlike amazon which apparently will be blocking/stopping people from getting anything from their non-australian site :banghead::smash:.

Dangit, i just love Australia, but after reading that, i will have to create my own Australia then :rofl:
