Just registered here to ask a question below, but I first wanted to thank you all. I picked up a cheap Hikvision DS-2CD2332-I only to have it reboot on me randomly, and when I tried a firmware update, brick itself. Two bricks and getting it stuck on Chinese text mode later, the info on these forums has kept me from tossing it in the trash. Thanks
Anyway, one thing I didn't consider when picking up the cam: no audio. I'd like to add a second device purely for audio recording that is supported by my Synology NAS, so that I can sync the two on playback. I have some external mics for this purpose, but need to select a camera.
My criteria:
- Supported by a Synology DS415+
- Wireless via secure protocol
- Video quality not important
- Needs to capture high-quality external audio from a line-in port
- Less than $100
I'm not even sure if the quality of camera affects audio quality at all, honestly. Does anyone have a brand or model they think might fit the bill, or come close?
