Hello everyone,

I’m looking for a recommendation on a front door camera. Specifically, I’m interested in one that offers two-way communication and has a built-in siren.
My budget is up to $350, but I’m open to increasing it slightly if there’s a great option available. I’m also willing to wait if any new models are coming out later this year.
The front door light is on at night, and this camera will replace either the overhead one or the one on the side, which currently captures a side view of people approaching.
I’d appreciate any suggestions you might have.

Thank you in advance!

If you have POE and not looking specifically at a doorbell camera, this would probably be the go to right now.

Yes on POE and Yes on not looking at doorbell camera. Just in time for the sale. Thanks!

Last question would a 2.8mm or 3.6mm lens be better for side view, especially with the camera positioned about 4 to 5 feet away?

I agree with wittaj, unless you need face detection I think this camera is the best with 2 way talk, dual mic pickup, alarm and a large CMOS. The night time image is amazing with 1/1.8 with the F1.0 for observation and detection and the ability to turn on the LED or warm lights automatically when needed. With TIOC 3 the AI in this camera is the latest and well below your budget an the empiretech01 site .

I do 3.6mm at all of my doors

I'd definitely agree with others that the 4M-T is a wise choice for the front door. I tried several cameras for my front door, and the 4M-T works well in low light at night, has a great sounding speaker, and features a good microphone too. Here is a quick demo of the 3.6mm 4M-T at my front door for a delivery a few minutes ago.

That is a sweet setup and awesome video!
