Better to connect NVR to Router or POE Switch?

Well, then that's probably your problem. Where is the gateway/router and who owns it?

It is an xfinity hot spot. I use my work login to access their hotspots so I don't have to pay for service twice.

So you're just using all that equipment to view at your house, correct? Is there really a need for the NVR and other camera related stuff to be connected to the internet?

Well, basically I only had to add the second repeater for remote access to my NVR. I need the 1st repeater to grab the signal and rebroadcast so that I have a signal throughout the house.

No, I do not need it connected it is more of a convenience. The thing is it was working great until I upgraded my POE switch and changed the wire config. Funny thing is after I changed the wire config back to have the NVR directly connected to the POE switch it dropped one camera once real quick and hasn't done it since. I'm going to leave it this way and watch it over the next couple of days.

I'm sorry, what changes are you referring to?
Changing the wires around or the ip config. I have a Dahua nvr that can get flaky when I change stuff around. Might just be mine I don't know, but it seems more stable if I reboot after making changes. Just something to keep in mind.

Haha you ain't kidding. My nvr is the same way. Not sure what difference it would make internally going from a direct connection to the poe switch to connecting through the repeaters switch with the poe plugged in but it can't hurt to try :)
