Ran the installer and it needed the C++ redistributable installed, so I performed that install and rebooted as instructed when it completed. BI installation resumed, but said the C++ wasn't installed correctly. Repairing doesn't fix it. I'm stuck in an infinite loop or repair > not installed correctly. Windows 11.

If you think it's a Windows problem, run DISM commands to repair system files. That might be your best chance. Otherwise in the absence of a full system back up prior to installtion (do you have backup software or Windows Restore on?), you're looking at a clean installation of Windows & days reinstalling / configuring everything. My advice, start small. Run Chkdsk. If no joy, run DISM and DISM cleanup command. If No Joy look for a Restore Point. If no joy use a software backup point if you are using backup software. If no joy consider your position vis a vis a Windows Installation and the options. Again start small - re-install Windows with files intact option. Then escalate from there if unsusccessful. Going Nuclear in round 1, will simply cause you pain.

Also try re-installing the redistributable. Remove it then reinstall it. You can probably get the download through Windows update instead of BI.

Go into Services and select Blue Iris Service and disable it
Thanks, wittaj. I upgraded from 5 to 6 with no issues. In my case I run BI as an app rather than as a service. Also, I used Grok to get the required steps, basically to first download the settings as a precaution.
