BI aspect ratio appears to be 640x480?

I just installed 3 new bullet IP cams, 960P, (generic) and installed them to BI. All's well EXCEPT in BI the aspect ratio appears to be 640x480 and the video is distorted (stretched top to bottom).

The cam's display correctly in the setup browser (P2PID finder) in a wide screen format.
Is this BI? I can't seem to find anything in BI that forces the aspect ratio of a particular cam. What's going on here? I'm clueless and stumped on this one.....All I did was the "default" add camera in BI, nothing more, nothing less....

Thanks
Bob T.

you can force the resolution in BI, but more likely is that you are pulling the substream...my guess is that you incorrectly changed the cam number in BI video >configuration, it should remain at "1" for EVERY camera.

I looked and it's camera 1 on both cams (the third isn't plugged in). I didn't change the cam number myself but I looked anyway......
How does one know if one is 'pulling video from the substream'?

post an image of your video config tab...

Well, I'll try....See cam 5&8...They're 640x480...

That screenshot indicates stream ID 0 which is most likely the main stream.

In the camera's web interface, look at the resolution it is configured to encode. Also set it to the highest resolution available if it is not already.

Then check in Blue Iris, camera properties, video tab, and look at the resolution being received by Blue Iris. Whatever it shows in Blue Iris, it should either match the main stream or a sub stream provided by the camera.

If it matches the main stream and you still feel like the camera's view is being squashed, then you can try manually setting a wider (16:9 aspect ratio) resolution in Blue Iris, camera properties, video tab, by checking the anamorphic checkbox and typing in a different resolution.

Camera's resolution= 960...Only two choices: 960p and vga. It is set to 960p.
Camera resolution says: 1280x960
I'll try the anamorphic option....
Well, definitely changed it. I'll have to place something round in the view of the camera to see if the distortion's been mitigated. I'll wait for daylight to do that.

Thanks

Just realized that 1280x960 is the same as 640x480 aspect ratio.....The funny thing about these el-cheapo cams is that I had to use their supplied phone app to install the cam to my network but had to use P2P ID finder and IE9 to access the cam to set it up in any meaningful way. The phone app was pretty primitive and allowed only very basic setup. No Alias, no network IP changes (camera is set for DHCP and dynamic IP).

The camera app doesn't show resolution as 1280x960 but simply 960 or VGA. I think the 1280 is by default on the camera.

I had to setup a fixed IP via P2P ID and IE9 because their phone app doesn't allow any Network changes at all.....I guess they believe this camera will only be used with their phone app....They have a 1080p version of this but I chose this one because they discontinued the internal micro SD storage in the newer cam. But for $42 a camera I'm not complaining.

That's a 4:3 Aspect ratio. My 3MP Hikvisions have a 4:3 aspect ratio with it's 2048 x 1536 resolution.
But with those they also have a 16:9 aspect ration option where the resolution drops to 1920x1080.
