hi all,

My BI PC has 32gb of installed RAM.
The BI main window reports 4.11GB of RAM usage at the bottom of the page (system status).
The new status window overview tab reports RAM usage at 25%?
Am I missing something or is this a bug? Just updated to .33 from .30 and it still reports in this manner.

If you really want to drive your self crazy, you could start comparing the RAM usage shown in task manager also!

Yes my Blue Iris Status on the Overview tab shows 11% (I have 64 GB installed) so that would be 7.04 GB), BI shows it is using 651.9 MB, and task manager shows (596+77.9) = 673.9 MB. You are correct that the value shown in the Status Overview is highly suspect, is it possible that it is showing how much of the ram allocated to BI is actually being used???

The bottom line for me is that I have lots of RAM available and the amount being used is not steadily climbing, Beyond that I am not going to get too concerned about a possible bug in the displayed RAM being used withing BI, If you have a valid support agreement, you could report it to support!

Seems like a lot, might check to make sure your camera's framerate set in the camera's GUI matches or close to this setting in BI. Sometimes this gets out of whack and will consume memory.

This question comes up a fair amount.

It is the reason why BI has a % adjuster so you can make it match if it drives you bonkers they don't match.

But as Bruce points out, this is really to be used as more of a diagnostic tool than an absolute number. Does the % slowly creep up or stay consistent, that is the sort of thing this is intended for.

From the BI Help file for version 5.9.9.25, does not say much, but does hint that it is a work in progress!

The inception of a new status window Overview page. This page now shows AI status along
with basic system metrics like CPU, GPU, RAM. The number of AI connections and the
response time for all modules is presented. Still much more to come here…
