BI service. clicking for GUI "the service is not initiializing properly"

Hi there,

been with bi for a while now, but recently when I go to my BI pc when I click on BI admin to see the gui I get the error above?
any ideas please?
 
Well, I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling Blue Iris (back up your configuration and deactivate your license first). And if that doesn't work then I'd completely reinstall windows using the microsoft windows 10 media creation tool to create a completely fresh new install image on a USB flash drive.
 
If you aren't on Win10 then I am not really up to date on how to get installation media for it, maybe you already have it.
 
what I have done now is... safe mode, export, uninstall, reinstall then TRY to import but import error importing registry key 5?

any ideas?

damn. looks like a win 10 reinstall. I hate it but I do secretly like having a fresh install and the reinstalling programs etc. lol
