Immediate indication is it’s the cam. I swapped one of my eyeball cams (plugged it in and propped it up in the feeder) and it has already recorded many times longer than the old cam was running. It has been lately running for only 8-10 seconds with twenty minute breaks in between.
This swapped 2.8 has been running for a half hour so far.
Unless it suddenly falls ill due to some mystery bug, I’m going to call this solved. Resolution will mean buying another cam. This time, a varifocal.

Update: ran continuously over night, no issue.
Now I need to find a new cam, at least a varifocal but maybe a zoom. No IR needed, need good natural color performance, low light Suggestions?
