Blocking intel driver updates from Windows Update?

Tried the steps below but it has happened yet again. I could disable Windows Update altogether but would rather not do this.

Stop automatic driver updates on Windows 10

It always updates to the latest intel driver and then CPU usage is back to 100% ...

When you say "all the steps below" you ARE referring to the Windows 10 article, and not the thread from this forum discussing what/how to do it?

I can tell you from first-hand experience, that the steps outlined in this thread DO work. I've been running an i7-8700K for about a week now and not seen the driver issue rear it's ugly head since then.

Thanks. This is what I was after:
cpu utilization of BI process rises up to 100%

It looks like group policy is the best way to block updates for specific hardware.

yep...just make sure to tag all of the hardware id's as there seems to be a few specific to the graphics card.
