I just got my BI install completed.
I installed the BI App for iPhone and it will only connect when I turn off wifi. When I'm on wifi with a local IP it will not connect, on the app, to the BI server. I get a message "Unable to make connection; check server address"
I can connect to BI from other computers on the local network via browser.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

thanks!

Is the LAN address correct within the BI app?

Yup. It works fine from another computer on the network in a browser.

I'm referring to the LAN IP address within the iPhone app.

Did you port forward your local IP address within your router or do you have VPN access setup?

I can connect on that port from a browser on another PC on the same network. However, I cannot connect using Chrome on my iPhone.

It is weird, try changing the port in BI to 80 and try it again.

Well, I'm no help. Did you try the remote access wizard within BI?

You might want to try adding your router's IP address as a DNS to your iPhone's wifi settings.

dumb question but you are connected to your home's wifi correct? so if you google "what is my ip" from your phone, BI server and the other PC they all have the same result? Any chance someone configured your wifi to be a guest network and therefor be on a separate vlan?

So, I was connected to the 2.4ghz network. I changed to the 5ghz and it connected right up. I'll have to figure out what's different on the networks.

the 2.4ghz must be configured as a guest network or vlan/bridge group is different
